One Direction yet again won awards that they had been nominated for! Its like they can beat almost everybody! They won in the category of Favorite Music Group and “What Makes You Beautiful” for Favorite Song. Congratulations Boys! ;D
The lads won their 2nd Brit ever tonight for ‘Global Success’ and they were presented with this award by none other than Robbie Williams himself! I am so proud of them, they definitely deserve it! Pop sensations One Direction and singer Celine Dion were the big winners at the 2012 Bambi Awards in Germany on Thursday night. The boy band triumphed in the Pop International category, and they thrilled the crowd at the ceremony in Dusseldorf by performing their hit Live While We’re Young. Singer Harry Styles later took to Twitter to tell fans, “Thank you so much Germany for the Bambi award! It means a lot… We had fun tonight,” and he also shared a photo of his trophy going through an X-ray scanner at an airport before a flight back home. One Direction were triumphant at the EMAs in Frankfurt last night. The X Factor stars won three major awards. However, fans had to make do with a recorded thank you message.
 The MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) have already named One Direction as the best UK/Ireland act for the year, according to the BBC. The band received the most votes from fans and beat out competitors Ed Sheeran, Rita Ora, Conor Maynard, and Jessie J. One Direction member Louis Tomlinson said, “We’re so happy and incredibly honoured to have won this. Once again our amazing fans have done us proud- thanks so much as always to you all!” That’s not all the boys have to be proud of. Last week they achieved the fastest-selling track by a non-US artist ever on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The boys will now compete against other acts to be named the best in the region. To represent Europe, One Direction will compete against twenty one European acts representing an area from Spain to the Ukraine. Fans have until October 30 to vote for their favorite regional act. Fans can visit www.mtvema.com to vote for their favorite act. The representative for Europe will be announced on Tuesday, October 30. MTV will also announce the winners for North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific, and Africa/India/Middle East. The resulting winners will then compete against one another for the title of “Worldwide Act.” Online voting for the winner closes on November 9. The grand winner will be announced at the 19th annual show held this year at the historic Festhalle in Frankfurt on November 11. One Direction is nominated for two awards, one of which is biggest fans.

The boys won big at the award show going home with three awards including Best Pop Video and Best New Artist. They also won the most-shareworthy video award – which was voted on by fans – for their debut hit single “What Makes You Beautiful” and later performed their latest release “One Thing” to hordes of screaming girls at the two-hour Los Angeles ceremony. |
