One Direction have confirmed that their forthcoming 3D documentary movie is to be called This Is Us. Director Morgan Spurlock has been working with the boy band on the film, due for release in August 2013. Simon Cowell, boss of One Direction’s record label Syco, previously described it as an “access all areas, behind the scenes” look at the group. It is thought the movie will be similar to recent documentaries released by Katy Perry and Justin Bieber. The British boy band have been working with director Morgan Spurlock, who is famous for making Super Size Me, which looked into the effects of eating nothing but fast food. The director has been following the fivesome to events, including this year’s Brit Awards. He’s called the film “an incredible opportunity and an amazing moment in time for the band”.
